family an hour away. My daughter has lived in Africa for about 15 years (Mozambique for the last ten) with two more grandkids. The experience has clarified the meaning of the term, far and wide, and added a few stamps to our passports. I try to run fairly regularly though each decade has been associated with an ego adjustment as more and more young punks (encompassing an ever-widening age range) pass me as if I were standing still. Of late, the group’s demography has begun taking its toll with respect to health and mortality. But, looking back and looking forward, my attitude is mainly one of gratitude.
