Narrative: Greetings to all my classmates (the Blaze of Glory Class) from the flyover part of the country where my fellow citizens voted three to one against Hillary. Richland County, where I live, has become a sanctuary county for the Second Amendment. I continue my never-ending fight against alien species which continue to invade my woodlands, the latest one being bittersweet. I’m still serving as president of the Ridgway Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society, just having finished the Christmas Bird Count this past December, and look forward to the thankless task of compilation. Ellen retired from her lay analyst practice four years ago and took up the cello as a beginning student. (Herb you have nothing to worry about.) My adult kids and granddaughter continue to be my most important interest in my mid-70s. Almost all of our traveling is to either San Diego or La Jolla, where our oldest daughter lives with her husband Jeff, or to Ithaca, New York where my younger daughter teaches at Cornell and shares the care of her two-year-old daughter with her husband Matt. I continue to play a cornet or trumpet with the Cummins Municipal Band which will be celebrating its 150th birthday in 2020. This is a bit of the continuation from medical school where several of us played in Baltimore Brass led by George Sack and Chuck Brantigan. Another throwback from medical school days is my pink Mustang which has been in the shop getting a top to bottom restoration for the past five years. (I threatened to drive it to Baltimore for the reunion, but this was nixed by Ellen) I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the reunion and hopefully at the Eastern Shore.
